You can trim MXF media files or cut a part of the original file with built-in SmartRenderer engine. The engine creates a new file without transcoding, so the output has the same quality as the source media.
To start working with SmartRenderer in n.Player, open a media file, and press Trim button. The application switches to the trimming mode:
The Marker list area at the left contains a list of fragments you want to extract. Each line in the list contains in- and out- positions both in seconds and in frames.
By default, a fragment of a full file duration is added. To adjust the fragment parameters, you can either drag green pointers on the timeline slider or edit frames in and frames out cells in the Marker list item.
To remove a fragment from the Marker list, select it, and press the button.
Below the playback control buttons, there are controls to manage the trimming:
- Add marker – adds a new marker to a list
- Save edl – saves the list of markers into an EDL file for future use in video editors.
- Export – runs the trimming operation. n.Player asks you to choose an output file name and then creates a resulting file.
