Settings
To open n.Player preferences, go to File → Settings.
The menu contains the following items:
- Overlay Timecode – sets a position of timecode overlay on the preview area.
- De-interlace – sets deinterlacing mode. If Enable, n.Player uses the deinterlacing algorithm selected in a list below.
- Path to Mxf Explorer – defines a path to MXF Explorer. If MXF Explorer is installed in a custom folder, browse for mxfexp.exe file with Browse… button.
- Path to Mp4 Explorer – defines a path to MP4 Explorer. If MP4 Explorer is installed in a custom folder, browse for mp4exp.exe file with Browse… button.
- Path to mediaEngine Express – defines a path to mediaEngine Express. If it is installed in a custom folder, browse for MediaEngineExpress.exe file with Browse… button.
- Fullscreen on Monitor – sets a monitor for full screen playback.
- Stop after loading video file – if enabled, n.Player stops playback when you add a new video file to a playlist. Otherwise, it automatically starts playback.

Keyboard Shortcuts
Main interface
- Space – start/pause playback
- S – stop playback
- Left (←) – step back/rewind playback
- Right (→) – step forward/fast forward playback
- Shift+P – show/hide playlist panel
- Shift+M – show/hide metadata panel
- Shift+R – switch the repeat mode (off/playlist/file)
- Ctrl+Shift+S – save current frame as PNG
- M – mute/unmute playback
- Ctrl+E – open MXF Explorer (for MXF files) or MP4 Explorer (for MOV and MP4 files) at current frame
- Ctrl+Z – open Zond 265 (if available)
- Shift+E – opens mediaEngine Express (if available)
- Ctrl+M – show audio meters
Side-by-side playback mode
Left side
- Shift+Space – play/pause playback
- Shift +S – stop playback
- Shift +Left (←) – step backward/rewind playback
- Shift +Right (→) – step forward/fast forward playback
Right side
- Ctrl+Space – play/pause playback
- Ctrl+S – stop playback
- Ctrl+Left (←) – step backward/rewind playback
- Ctrl+Right (→) – step forward/fast forward playback
